Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor, BDNF, MGC34632, Abrineurin, ANON2, BULN2.
BDNF promotes the survival of neuronal populations that are all located either in the central nervous system or directly connected to it. BDNF is a major regulator of synaptic transmission and plasticity at ***** synapses in many regions of the cns. The versatility of BDNF is emphasized by its contribution to a range of adaptive neuronal responses including long-term potentiation (ltp), long-term depression (ltd), certain forms of short-term synaptic plasticity, as well as homeostatic regulation of intrinsic neuronal excitability.
BDNF Human Recombinant is a single, glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 116 amino acids (19-128a.a) and having a molecular mass of 13.1kDa (calculated). BDNF is fused to a 6 a.a His tag at C-terminal.
Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
BDNF filtered (0.4 µm) and lyophilized from 0.5mg/ml in PBS.
It is recommended to add deionized water to prepare a working stock solution of approximately 0.5mg/ml and let the lyophilized pellet dissolve completely.
Store lyophilized protein at -20°C. Aliquot the product after reconstitution to avoid repeated freezing/thawing cycles. Reconstituted protein can be stored at 4°C for a limited period of time; it does not show any change after two weeks at 4°C.
Greater than 95.0% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
