Introduction
TAR
DNA Binding Protein (TARDBP) was initially recognized as a transcriptional repressor
which binds to chromosomally integrated TAR DNA and represses HIV-1
transcription. In addition, TARDBP has been detected in individuals diagnosed
with chronic traumatic encephalopathy as well, which is a condition that often
imitates ALS and has
been related with athletes who have experienced multiple concussions and other
types of head injury.TARDBP
has been shown to bind both DNA and RNA, it has multiple functions in
transcriptional repression, pre-mRNA splicing and translational regulation.
Description
TARDBP Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 414 amino acids (1-414 a.a) and having a molecular mass of 44.7kDa.
TARDBP is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Sterile Filtered colorless solution.
Formulation
TARDBP protein solution (0.25mg/ml) containing 20mM Tris-HCl (pH8.0), 0.1M NaCl, 1mM DTT, 1mM EDTA and 10% glycerol.
Stability
Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time.
For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
Purity
Greater than 85% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
