Application: Place the ear tag in the applicator aligning the hole in the tag with the indentation in the slightly longer jaw of the applicator.  Clean the tags with alcohol or similar disinfecting solution to prevent infections. Position the tag beyond the edge of cartilage in the ear and close the jaws of the applier. After application, check that the pointy end of the tag has gone through the hole and bent around properly securing the tag in the ear.
