20G x 3 1/2" Westcott biopsy needle has thin walls with a slotted opening near the tip measuring 2.2 mm in length. The slot creates a second cutting edge, in addition to the needlepoint, enabling aspirations of larger amounts of material. The needle has markings at 10 mm intervals for measuring the depth of insertion. It comes with a stylet inside the needle, which may be used to remove tissue in the needle core.
