  • Inhibitor of gastric acid secretion and pancreatic enzyme secretion and has been shown to reduce food intake and increase energy expenditure in humans. Central injection of oxyntomodulin reduces food intake and weight gain in rodents, suggesting that oxyntomodulin signals food ingestion to hypothalamic appetite-regulating circuits.
