A potent and selective inhibitor of Acetyl-CoA Carboxylase 2 (ACC2). ACC2 is a key regulatory enzyme controlling skeletal muscle mitochondrial fatty acid oxidation; inhibition of ACC2 results in enhanced oxidation of lipids. Studies have suggested ACC2-selective inhibitor (S)-9c revealed glucose-lowering effects in a mouse model of diabetes mellitus.
