Pseudoanguillosporin A isolated from Atrobilurus sp. shows broad antimicrobial and antifungal activities.

The metabolites showed significant activity against Phytophthora infestans, Mcrobotryum violaceum, Botrytis cinerea, Pyricularia oryzae, Septoria tritici and Chlorella fusca.

Pseudoanguillosporin A is respiration inhibitor and especially inhibits mitochondrial respiration in fungi. It binds at the Q0-center on cytochrome b and blocks the electron transfer between cytochrome b and cytochrome c1.
