Astaxanthin is a reddish pigment that belongs to a group of carotenoids. It is available from both natural and synthetic source. It is found naturally in red colored aquatic animals. Astaxanthin is a widely used dietary supplement; research has suggested that due to Astaxanthin's potent antioxidant activity it can be used to treat Alzheimer's,Parkinson's disease, stroke, cardiovascular as well as inflammatory diseases.
