Ins(1,4,5)P3.K+ is a Ca²⁺mobilising second messenger, a product of Ins(1,3,4,5)P4 metabolism. Binds to one of several Ins(1,4,5)P3 receptors resulting in the opening of calcium channels. It Causes release of calcium from intracellular stores. ATP provokes the production of Ins(1,4,5)P3 by Phospholipase C (PLC).
