Phosphatase inhibitor cocktails provide full protection to the proteins of interest in subsequent experiments like western blotting, reporter gene analysis, immunoprecipitations, epitope tagging, specific protein activity assay and for further purification steps.

They are also useful in analyzing the impact of hormones and other physiological stimuli on the function of a specific phosphoprotein. The phosphatase inhibitor cocktail 2 consists of 5 phosphatase inhibitors and has been optimized for the inhibition of protein tyrosine phosphatases, acid and alkaline phosphatases.
