Quinomycin A, aka Echinomycin is a cyclic depsipeptide metabolite, Quinomycin A has broad activity against bacteria, fungi, and viruses. Also used as anti-tumor agent. Recent studies show Quniomycin A to be a potent inhibitor of Hypoxia-inducible factor-1 (HIF-1), HIF-1 plays an essential role in tumor progression metastasis. Quinomycin is toxic and possibly mutagenic, extreme caution is required when handling.
