Description
The ViPrimePLUS West Nile Virus RT-qPCR Kit is a Taqman probe-based real-time PCR assay for the detection of West Nile Virus genome in clinical samples (e.g. blood).
West Nile Virus is a neurological infection caused by a mosquito-borne, single-stranded RNA virus, belonging to the family Flaviviridae. The primary host vectors are female mosquitoes Culex pipiens, Culex tarsalis and Culex quinquefasciatus in Eastern, Midwest and West, and Southwest regions of the United States of America, respectively. The infection is also endemic with distribution in Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe and Middle East.
